Chemical Peel in Norwich

What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel, also known as chemexfoliation or dermapeeling, uses a chemical solution to improve the appearance, tone and texture of your skin. It is an aesthetic procedure that uses an acid to create micro trauma to exfoliate the top, damaged layers of your skin.
Chemical peels are commonly performed on the face, neck, hands and even body. They can help reduce or improve fine lines and wrinkles, certain types of acne, mild scarring, sun and age spots, rough and dry skin and dark patches such as melasma.
Prepare for the chemical peel
- Avoid tanning or direct sun exposure for two weeks before each treatment
- Do not use topical products containing active ingredients such as retinoids or hydrogen peroxide 48/72 hours prior to the treatment
- If you have been prescribed oral antibiotics, it is advised to avoid or postpone peels until the antibiotic course is finished, for at least 2-4 weeks.
During the consultation, your therapist will advise on the most suitable peel based on skin type, condition and concern. There will be a choice of Monoacids or Combined acids.
Chemical peels may cause temporary side effects, such as redness, swelling, and skin peeling. These effects are part of the skin renewal process and typically subside within a few days.
Levels of chemical peels
Superficial (light) chemical peel
Gently exfoliates the epidermis, the top layers of your skin. Provides subtle improvement over time and is often done in series. Minimal to no downtime.
Medium chemical peel
Penetrates to the upper dermis and gives your skin a smooth, fresh look. Recovery from this type of peel might take a couple of days with very minimal dryness.
Deep chemical peel
Produces the most dramatic results. This chemical peel penetrates down to the lower middle layer of your skin. Recovery time is longer with a deep peeling effect.
Rejuvenating Peel
Superficial-to-medium-depth combined peel. A unique combination of pyruvic acid and lactic acid is designed to combat signs of skin ageing, such as moderate to advanced wrinkles, flaccidity and dullness to achieve lifting effect without causing invasive damage to the epidermis. It also improves the appearance of post-acne scars and revitalises the skin. Safe for all skin types.
Radiance Peel
Superficial combined to a medium peel, formulated with whitening ingredients such as Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Kojic Acid and Salicylic Acid. Radiance Peel is a peel that implements a lasting whitening effect, diminishes the visible signs of photo-damage, improves uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation. The peel improves the overall skin luminosity and it also stimulates collagen which improves elasticity and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It refines, resurfaces and minimises pore sizes.
Mandelic Peel 30% or 50%
Is a gentle monoacid chemical exfoliant designed to renew the skin, reduce pigmentation, and treat acne-prone or sensitive skin. The molecules of this acid are large, meaning it is the least aggressive and the best tolerated peel of all, since it penetrates the skin more slowly and at a lower depth.
This peeling provides less general irritation compared to other AHA peels, which is beneficial for those who have sensitive skin prone to inflammation. Mandelic acid has an antibacterial effect on the skin, which makes it a viable option for those with acne-prone skin who want to try a chemical peel but are concerned about clogged pores and irritation.
Obagi Blue Radiance
The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is a superficial chemical peel that contains a unique blend of acids, including salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and lactic acid, which work together to remove damaged skin cells and stimulate skin renewal. This peel is used to address various skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, sun damage and post acne hyperpigmentation.
This peel is known for its ability to provide a brighter, smoother complexion by removing the outermost layers of the skin, revealing fresher, healthier skin underneath. It is a relatively mild peel, often referred to as a “lunchtime peel” because it requires minimal downtime.
Purifying Peel
A combination of Salicylic Acid and Azelaic acid that deeply renews the intermediate and deep layers of the skin. With this peeling treatment, you can quickly achieve a substantial improvement in the appearance of acne- related disorders. It is an ideal treatment to control sebaceous secretion, to reduce enlarged pores and to improve cases of acneic couperosis.
Spot Out Treatment
Toskani Spot Out treatment is a professional depigmentation procedure, designed to lighten and brighten your skin, reduce sunspots, freckles, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, stubborn melasma and even skin texture. The Spot out procedure combines powerful depigmenting agents, antioxidants and exfoliating ingredients.
The treatment works by inhibiting melanin production and breaking down pigmentation.
The treatment will be performed partly in the clinic, then after continuing to actively treat the skin with a home treatment cream in the months following the treatment. Spot out treatment is a six-month process involving the homecare as part of the treatment. It is recommended to have a preparatory peel in the clinic prior to the Toskani Spot Out treatment.
