Below is more information about how the thread vein removal is performed at Norwich Cosmetic Clinic:

Facial red discolourations: also known as vascular lesions (small veins, rosacea, cherry angiomas etc), are overgrown or enlarged blood vessels. Carefully pinpointing these and heating the vessel walls causes them to weaken, fall and are absorbed by the body.

Laser Leg Vein Removal: laser leg vein treatments works by selectively heating vein walls until they collapse and seal shut. The sealed vein is then absorbed by the body over a period of months.
You will start by meeting with one of our experienced practitioners to discuss your medical history, determine your eligibility, discuss details of the actual treatment and schedule a treatment time.
Face: Your practitioner might choose to apply a clear gel to the skin on which the chilled laser hand-piece will glide. Treatment progresses by using high precision beams, so laser energy is delivered to match distinct vascular targets including superficial veins and cherry angiomas.

Legs: Your practitioner might choose to apply a clear gel to the skin on which the chilled laser hand-piece will glide. The laser beam will be adjusted to precisely match the diameter of your vein. The hand-piece will be held against the treatment area. Laser pulses will be delivered evenly along the length of the vein. In many cases, your will see part of the vein disappear with each pulse. Several veins can often be treated in a single session.
You may experience a slight tingling during treatment. To help manage comfort and safety, the system is equipped with a chilled sapphire tip which cools skin before, during and after each pulse. Any concerns you have should be discussed with your practitioner prior to treatment. Depending on the level of treatment, your practitioner may offer a topical anaesthetic to help numb the skin prior to treatment.
Treatments can take 15 to 30 minutes or more depending on the treatment area.
Face: Most patients experience considerable improvement after 1 to 4 treatments depending upon the skin condition and level of treatment.

Legs: Most patients experience considerable improvement after 4 to 6 treatments, with 6 to 8 week intervals, depending upon the severity of skin condition and level of treatment.
Face: Soon after treatment your skin may appear slightly flushed and slightly swollen. These effects usually subside after a few hours/days depending on treatment intensity.

Legs: Soon after treatment, a red mark, resembling a ‘cat scratch’ may appear in the treatment area and persist for a few days. Following treatment, you may be asked to and avoid hot baths and heavy exercise. Special care should be taken to limit sun exposure to the treated area for at least a week.
