Derma FNS™ (a system of micro needling) uses multiple needles that vertically pierce the skin to create vertical channels which are designed to achieve the same effect as fractional lasers, but with minimal epidermal damage. It is believed that it is the greater density of channels that leads to enhanced results of this system when compared with results achieved with dermal rollers.
Derma FNS™ uses vertical insertions to create thousands of tiny holes in the skin causing the release of serum growth factors which stimulate the breakdown of old fibrous collagen and stimulate new collagen and elastin development.
You will start by meeting with one of our experienced practitioners to discuss your medical history, determine your eligibility, discuss details of the actual treatment and schedule a treatment time.
Firstly, the skin is cleansed to ensure it is clean and dry before the treatment begins. A layer of serum is then applied to act as a glide on the skin. The whole face is treated to ensure an even skin tone and improvement of texture, although certain areas may require more attention. The treatment takes around 30-45 minutes. Once the treatment is complete, we apply a thin layer of a calming cream and sun protection.
As the treatment involves using small needles to pierce the skin we invite you to come 30 minutes prior to your treatment so we can apply anaesthetic cream which will make the treatment more comfortable for you.
After the procedure your skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.
We recommend a course of 4-6 treatments carried out over 4-6 weeks apart to achieve the optimum effects on the skin.
