You will start by meeting with one of our experienced practitioners to discuss your medical history, determine your eligibility, discuss details of the actual treatment, perform a test patch and schedule a treatment time.
Your practitioner will cleanse the skin, apply safety googles and a layer of cool gel to the skin which also reduces reflection of the IPL waves from the skin. This makes the treatment more efficient. The handpiece is moved across the face ensuring all areas are covered. The treatment takes around 20-30 minutes to complete. Once finished the gel is removed and cool packs are applied to the skin followed by aloe vera gel and sun protection.
You may experience a sensation a bit like a ‘bee sting’ during the treatment and the skin will feel warm. You will have redness in the treatment area, however this settles within 24 hours and you are able to return to your everyday activates. Sensitive skin can sometimes swell slightly but again this is very short lived. Make up can be applied immediately after to help cover any redness on the skin.
The treatments take around 20-30 minutes, depending on the area to be treated. Results can take anywhere from 1-6 sessions, this is discussed in your consultation with regard to what the skin concerns are. Treatments are carried out on a monthly basis and it is important you do not have any sort of tan on the skin including fake tan to achieve the safest and optimum results.
