Fractionated energy has been proven over the years to vastly improve the appearance of ageing skin. Fractora uses a matrix of micro-pins to resurface the skin and provide superior results. Radio-frequency energy heats the skin in a controlled way to remodel deep collagen, to improve the appearance of wrinkles, resurface the skin in a gentle fractional manner and to improve skin tone and texture, for a more radiant and youthful appearance. The gentle heat generated by the Fractora pins in the sub-dermal tissue promotes collagen restructuring. The methodical scattering of micro-lesions allows the skin to heal faster than if the entire area was ablated. Fractora can be used in areas that show fine or deep wrinkles or skin laxity. The most common areas of treatment are the lower eyelid, upper eyelid, crow’s feet, forehead, cheeks, mouth and neck.
You will start by meeting with one of our experience practitioners to discuss your medical history, determine your eligibility, discuss details of the actual treatment and schedule a treatment time.
We invite you to come in 1 hour before your treatment time so we can apply an anaesthetic cream, which helps the treatment to feel more comfortable. Firstly, your practitioner will clean the skin’s surface. During treatment, the electrode is moved across the skin’s surface ensuring each area has been completely targeted. You will experience some heat and pressure, but most patients tolerate the procedure very well. After treatment is completed cooling packs are applied to the skin. As small puncture holes will have been created to deliver the radio-frequency, an antibiotic cream is applied along with aloe vera to soothe the skin. You will be instructed to use the aftercare products for 3-5 days following your treatment. It is important to avoid direct sun exposure and a suitable sun protection factor is applied daily. Fractora is great as a standalone treatment or can be used in conjunction with our other laser treatments, facials or anti-wrinkle injections.
There is minimal downtime to the procedure. Patients should expect the skin to look like sunburn and see micro scabs a few days after treatment and redness up to 1-2 weeks.
Fractora is designed as a course of 3-4 treatments performed monthly. Patients can expect to see results 2 weeks after treatment and continue up to 3 months after their last session. Once a course is completed a maintenance treatment annually is often recommended to maintain results.
